Ava “Thanks for calling. I’m Ava, the AI assistant. How can I help?”

Dan “I need a kitchen tap replaced.”

Ava “Is it leaking at the moment?”

Dan “Just dripping. It’s not urgent.”

Ava “Great. What’s the postcode for the job?”

Dan “LS18 4AB.”

Ava “Just to check: you need a new kitchen tap in LS18 4AB, and it isn’t urgent. Can the team call you back on this number to arrange a time?”

Dan “Yes, that’s right. I’m Dan.”

Ava “Thanks, Dan. I’ll pass that on. Bye for now.”

Dan “Thanks, bye.”

Good questions.

Do I need a new number?

No. We set Ava up with her own UK number within 1 working day, and you keep yours. Set your phone to forward to Ava when you’re busy, don’t answer or have no signal, and we’ll show you how.

Will callers know Ava is AI?

If anyone asks, Ava says she’s an AI receptionist. You can change her greeting to say so up front, like in the example call.

Can Ava book appointments?

Yes, if you connect a Google Calendar. Ava only offers free times inside the hours you set. Without a calendar, Ava takes the details and you call back, like with Dan.

What if Ava can’t answer a question?

Ava takes a message and adds the question to a list for you, from calls and chats. Type a rough answer and Avarix tidies it up for next time. You check it before it’s saved.

What about nuisance calls?

Likely spam calls are marked as spam and don’t land in your inbox or email you. You can block a number yourself, and a number that keeps making nuisance calls is blocked for 30 days.

Can Ava put a caller through to me?

Yes, if you give her a number to transfer to. When a caller asks for you, or agrees to be put through, Ava transfers the call. If you don’t set one, she takes a message.

What Avarix does.

Avarix is an AI receptionist for small businesses that can’t always get to the phone. Ava, your assistant, answers the phone and the chat on your website, 24 hours a day, on her own UK number or on calls you forward from yours.

  • Answers questions using the facts you give Ava about your business.
  • Takes messages and collects the details you ask for, such as name, number and postcode.
  • Books appointments into free times in your Google Calendar, if you allow it.
  • Puts callers through to you when they need you, if you set a number.
  • Sends everything to your Inbox, with a short summary and a written transcript. Calls are written down, not recorded.
  • Emails you after each call, so you know someone has been in touch.
  • Keeps a customer list, so you can see who has been in touch before and how often.
  • Learns from the gaps. Questions Ava couldn’t answer wait for you. Answer in your own words and Ava writes it up for next time. You check it before it’s saved.
  • Blocks nuisance calls. Block a number yourself, and likely spam stays out of your inbox.

How Avarix uses Google Calendar

Connecting a Google Calendar is optional. If you connect one, Avarix reads your free and busy times so Ava only offers times you are free, creates an event when a caller books and shows your upcoming events inside Avarix. Avarix does not sell your calendar data, does not use it for advertising and does not use it to train AI models. Avarix does not create images of any kind. Read our privacy policy and terms of service.
